Please make sure that all windows and doors, especially those on the ground floor, are shut and locked. If the window acts as an escape route in a fire situation then please make sure this is not compromised. In addition please ensure that all valuables especially handbags, cash and mobile phones are secured at night within your home and are not on view which would enable easy access to them for an intruder. You can register to Cumbria Community Messaging for crime alerts and other information at: www.cumbriacommunitymessaging.co.uk         CRIMESTOPPERS   0800 555111                                     Your call is free.  You will not be asked for your name. You may receive a reward. We need to know their name; we don’t need to know yours.
