Thunderstorm warning for Thursday and rain forecast for Friday

Alert message sent 08/09/2021 16:00:00

Information sent on behalf of The Environment Agency

A Thunderstorm warning has been issued by the Met Office for Cumbria with the potential to see heavy, thundery downpours during tomorrow (Thursday).

This warning is for the potential for some localised disruption of surface water and flooding from smaller watercourses.  We are unable to provide exact locations of possible impacts due to the unpredictable nature of thunderstorms but we will be monitoring throughout the day.

The forecast is for a few heavy showers to linger during Friday, some of which could remain intense in nature before turning lighter as we head into Saturday.
